# Access Controls

At launch, the smart contracts powering primeETH are controlled by a [3 of 7 Safe Multisig](https://app.safe.global/home?safe=eth:0xEc574b7faCEE6932014EbfB1508538f6015DCBb0) which is owned by the Prime Staked team. 

Notably, the chosen signers for the Prime Staked multi-sig are experienced signers from Origin Protocol's team who have proven to be reliable for numerous years. This process is deployed to ensure that there is a commitment to security and trust as Origin Protocol has an established reputation for keeping valued assets safe. 

The team intends to add timelocks and transition to decentralized governance in the near future.
